We, at CGI, underwent Cyber Security training conducted by Vriddhi Networks, led by UNOPS staff, which proved to be a transformative experience. From the outset, the training aimed to equip us with a holistic understanding of the cyber threats prevalent in the digital landscape. Engaging discussions and real-world examples provided insights into the diverse array of cyber threats, spanning from common malware infections to sophisticated cyber-attacks orchestrated by state-sponsored actors. Additionally, the training delved into the profound impact of cyber-attacks, cyber security vulnerabilities, various types of cyber security frameworks, and methodologies. Moreover, the training provided comprehensive coverage of cyber harassment, encompassing cyberbullying and online abuse. 

Through insightful discussions and practical guidance, we learned to recognize and address instances of cyber harassment, thereby fostering safer digital environments. The dedication of our trainer, Mr. T. Elangovan, was commendable. His in-depth knowledge and dynamic teaching style ensured that we grasped complex concepts with clarity. Furthermore, Mr. Elangovan's provision of updates in Tamil catered to our linguistic preferences, facilitating enhanced comprehension and active participation.

CGI implemented the 'Rural Digital Knowledge Centre for Empowering Communities' program in the Northern and Eastern provinces, aiming to bridge the digital divide and empower local communities. As part of this initiative, CGI established six digital learning centers in selected libraries under the local authority. These centers serve as hubs for providing training and practical sessions to rural students and youngsters who are eager to enhance their digital literacy and skills. Through these centers, CGI offers comprehensive training programs tailored to meet the needs of individuals at the grassroots level. By imparting essential digital knowledge and skills, CGI aims to equip participants with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Also, training conducted by Vriddhi Networks initiative benefits CGI employees by enhancing their own knowledge and skills. By participating in these training sessions, employees gain valuable insight and expertise, enabling them to effectively deliver training sessions to others.

To build on the momentum created by these training initiatives, CGI conducted a school-wide awareness program in Valvettithurai. The program aims to promote the use of the Digital Knowledge Center established under the Valvettiturya UC Library. By creating awareness and showcasing the benefits of digital literacy, CGI seeks to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies in the local community, ultimately empowering individuals and promoting socio-economic development. As a result of the cyber security workshop, we were able to include cyber security and other security related topics in the awareness program for these students.
